The hardest part of counseling, like many journeys, is just taking the first step. Allow me to demystify the process in hope of alleviating any anxiety related to the unknown.
After I receive your inquiry, I will respond via email or phone call depending on what you find most comfortable within 24 hrs. You can ask me any questions you would like and I will get an idea as to what is bringing you to counseling. From there, if we determine we are a good fit, we will set an hour appointment either in person or telehealth. During the first appointment, I will get a history (as detailed as you are comfortable with), determine appointment frequency, and identify your goals.
After the first appointment, clients feel much more relaxed and excited to begin therapy. Meeting someone new can be scary but I try to make it as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
